Recent Purchases

My latest purchase - this stripy nautical top from Topshop.
It has been some time since the likes of Saint James and Armor Lux's nautical stripes held much sway in the style stakes. However, there has been a recent sea change in stripy acceptability, with names such as Sonia Rykiel, Stella McCartney and Louis Vuitton all bringing Breton style back to the fore. We've even spotted unadorned sailor suits at Chanel and Breton mini-dresses at Marc Jacobs. This season Breton restoration offers a refreshingly understated return to a style we had feared all but lost at sea. (Wallpaper, Nov 2009:71)
