The Farm Trend is about in Tunbridge Wells as I found out while going around town today. From one off independents to Cath Kidston and Jigsaw. The other obvious big influence on VM is Easter - with eggs, daffodils and rabbits a plenty in stores.

First here's Cath Kidston - with wallpaper hanging down, step ladders, crates and bulbs:


Joules however had the bicycle trend in their window:

This gardening store down towards the pantiles of Tunbridge Wells has some beautiful products and great VM:

The latest update on new displays in Nottingham city centre - organic, farm fresh is still a big common theme. Bank has the phrase "freshly squeezed" - with crates, grass and oranges in their window. As well as this there is more from the travelling trend at Muji - which has images of inside suitcases. See below:

Jigsaw Evening

Last thursday the Nottingham Jigsaw store held a showcase evening with a catwalk show, showcasing the brand's latest S/S range. As well as this they had live music and style advisors on hand. There was a great turn out for the event, and the fashion show was fun and light-spirited. I was there for research purposes to better understand the brand and its consumers, all the ladies instore were friendly and their comments were all very insightful for my report. London VM

I was in London for the day on friday, unfortunately I didn't get a lot of time to check out many shops, but I did pay a quick visit to Oxford street (and Topshop of course!) Have a look at some of my snaps below:

Firstly Miss Selfridge - still keeping with the circus theme I have been observing in the Nottingham branch.



I went into Liberty - purchased some gorgeous envelopes and below is an image of some of the quilts they currently have on display - which are beautiful and will be put up for auction on ebay.

Like Joules back at Christmas, Oasis have a large book in their window:

Shop Watch

Here is another installment of the new vm trends out in Nottingham, including as I have been predicting - the farm trend, as seen at Ted Baker. Take a look:


Here is a comical farm inspired window from Ted Baker - they are tapping into the consumer trend that is seeing more people keep their own chickens.

Tutu here have used earthy rustic colours in their VM - giving it a more organic/farm feel as well.

Its hard to see but in this boutique window they had used potato sack/hemp and a string washing line for an organic/tradtional feel. I also saw this fabric in-store in River Island - all tying in with the farm trend still.

Here's White Stuff - with a budgie theme, feathers, newspaper and the strap line "who's a pretty boy then?"



Hobbs are once again doing a good job with there N.W.3 range - loving the styling again, its given Hobbs a younger more trend based look.

Jigsaw's window is advertising their product feature in the film My last five girlfriends.

Just when you thought cath kidston couldn't be copied anymore, Office have now brought out their own interpretation of the rose and polka dot patterns on wellies.

The post trend is still out there - see this beatuiful messenger bag in a boutique window in the lace market.


Stripes and polka dots remain big trends for VM - they are the patterns of the season, and should be worn with a classic trench this spring/summer.





Rustic wood and metal are still key features in windows and store displays, along with step ladders, crates, chains, paint brushes and old posters.
