London Shop Watch

Its been a while since my last vm report, but here are a few pictures I have gathered recently during my lunch breaks from my internship in London just off Regent Street.

Crates and worn/rustic props remain a key trend in window displays.

Remember that farm trend I have been going on and on about?! Well barbour has taken on the trend in their latest window display

The A/W10 trends are taking over the windows now, plenty of camel, tweed, leather bags and wedge lace-up ankle boots

New Look opts for a more romantic look, tres Paris chic.

Dorothy Perkins on the other hand has a more folksy look, an aztec patterned maxi dress paired with a fur gillet, headscarves and ankle boots.



Miss Selfridge has used some beautiful images for backdrops, they remind me of a English stately manor, the old fashioned furniture, peacocks and plants, also the use of large gold frames.

The latest looks from Topshop here, I love the socks paired with lace-up ankle boots, perfect for autumn, and the camel shorts and navy military jacket (just bought myself a similar one which iam very happy with!)


H&M has gone dotty! It looks like it belongs on 101 dalmations - polka dot is obviously a big trend for them this season.

Finally Zara.....oh Zara, literally there is so much in there I want for my A/W10 wardrobe!! And it sucks that I cannot afford it, waiting on payday in a couple weeks. I have though snapped up there navy military jacket, also on my wish list is the camel peg leg trousers with tan belt, the quilted navy jacket, fur gillet and black leather skirt.

Cabbages and Roses

The other week I ventured to London town to the Cabbages and Roses flagship store, where I met the founder of the brand (Christina Strutt) and her daughter (Kate). Both were lovely, and the store was quaint, I managed to get a few snaps of their fabrics and window display, see below:

Starting Afresh

My aim this summer as I returned home from uni was to have a fresh start and re-decorate my room. The last time I decorated it was back when I was thirteen, and its safe to say my taste in interiors has vastly developed since then! Being a girly girl and a lover of vintage and traditional English decor, I picked a soft pale pink for the walls. As for the furniture I am currently hunting down a cream chest of drawers - for all my clothes!! I love florals, birds and the whole cath kidston/cabbages and roses aesthetic, so picked a Cath Kidston polka dot bed spread in grey and white, and have piled on various pink patterned cushions. As well I love pictures on the walls so framed some gorgeous patterned papers, from maps, written letters to birds and roses. I have stacks of magazines, my dolls house and I am struggling to accommodate all my shoes!! Anyone know where to get a decent shoe rack?! I am still hunting one of those down. Still to go....I am also looking for more pictures to hang, a new mirror for above my sink and the all important chest of drawers!! See some pics of how I am doing so far:

21st Birthday

A few weeks ago I turned 21, and my family surprised me with a great celebration party, we went for lunch at the gorgeous Newick Park. I am all into traditional English decor, and this place was beautifully decorated, so absolutely loved it, I wish I could live there! See some snaps from the special day below, including the building, the room we had champagne, the lawn where we had tea, my birthday pudding and the gardens.

Julien Macdonald Internship Continued

Sorry its been sooo long since I last updated on my adventures at Julien Macdonald where I am currently interning, you just wouldn't believe how busy I have been lately. The last few weeks I have been looking at their sales figures, determining the best and worst sellers, also creating a fabric folder with samples of all the fabrics being used in the SS11 collection, some beautiful colours and prints await the show! As well I print the photos from the fitting sessions, had a manic time hunting down replacement ink for the printer!! Been researching for Julien and the marketing team, as well as admin duties and working on reception. We had a well known guest come to the office, Bianca Jagger! Can certainly say my excel skills are better than ever, though yesterday I also got to do a little sewing (sewing in labels to wool jumpers!) and ventured with a map round Oxford street.

As of next week I have a little time off from the internship, but I shall try harder once I return to keep you more regularly informed!
