More images from that same 1967 issue of Vogue - all by Donna Mitchell. These looks are gorgeous and the photoshoot seems so modern, yet they were taken over 40 years ago! I love the old car, wouldn't mind that along with my own chaffeur!

We all know trends come round again in circles, well that includes A/W10's trend for capes - check out this image from the October 1967 issue of Vogue UK. You could mistake it for an image in this months Vogue! I like to look to the past for inspiration, and I adore this look - might just have to recreate my own version!

Hot to Chop?

Last week we saw Emma Watson unveil her new hair cut, and what a statement she is making! Every woman can relate that our hair is an important part of our identity and statements we want to make. So what statement is Emma trying to make? She seems to want to be more risky and really make a fashion statement. It seems short hair is becoming more and more desirable and fashionable. Personally though I would not have the guts or ability to pull off this pixie do, but Emma does a fantastic job of it (and reminds me of Twiggy - anyone else see that?!). Good on her, she looks even more beautiful - I never noticed those cheekbones before!

By the looks of it Warehouse have some gorgeous pieces coming in the for the Autumn/Winter season - I am already saving my pennies for these looks!

Standen

Today I ventured to Standen, also known as the house of Art and Craft...set in the heart of East Grinstead, the house is filled with a number of William Morris wallpapers and fabrics. It is a beautiful house, and the way it is decorated is remarkably clever, the way several patterns and colours have been combined in a room. I managed to take several photos whilst I explored the home and gardens...have a look:

Recent Purchases

My latest purchases have been more sensible buys, I am thinking ahead to A/W and have chosen classic pieces that are going to last, very important whilst my budget is tight! My recent purchases include: a fur coat (vintage from the 70s off ebay), a military coat (in navy, new from Zara), a pair of buckle ankle boots (from Topshop in versatile tan), a pair of peg leg trousers (Topshop) and a Stella McCartney grey jumper (one of the girls at my internship was having a wardrobe clearout, so got a bargain there!)

Thrift Finds

I have always had a love of antiques and vintage clothes, and seeing the blog - http://clothescamerasandcoffee.blogspot.com/ has rekindled my passion for thrift finds! The great sense of achievement you get from finding a truely unique piece, and usually at a bargain price! See my recent thrift finds below:

How about this case/bag (as I shall use it) found at my local charity shop for £1! I attached a chain so it can be slung over my shoulder. Its big enough to fit in all my handbag essentials - shall look great paired with my military coat in winter.

Whilst here are an adorable pair of navy shoes I picked up for £4.00 from an antique store in Heathfield. As well I got a matching thin navy belt for £1 in a charity shop, and some beautiful jewellery from an antique store in Lewes.
